Hi, I'm Maurice Samulski and since September 2006 I have been working as a PhD student at the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. I have a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Radboud University. In my MSc thesis I compared two classification techniques, Bayesian Networks and Support Vector Machines, for characterizing breast masses as either benign or malignant. Currently, I'm continuing my work on earlier detection of breast cancer using Computer Aided Detection (CAD) systems in screening. More specifically, my research focuses on improving the detection performance of CAD systems by combining information from multiple mammographic views, and using CAD results in a clinically different way to improve their effectiveness.
